The wonderful ladies who will take your fitness to the next level

Lesley coffey

Welcome to Inverted Fitness. I am Lesley, the owner, boss lady, senior instructor and the reason why Ashburton has a dedicated Pole and Pilates Studio. I’m originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland but moved to New Zealand over 10 years ago. I have been teaching pole for 8 years, gaining my qualifications back in 2011. Before that I was gymnast from 5 years old and was always dancing or practicing my gymnastics every chance I got. When I stumbled upon Pole Fit classes in Napier, I was hooked after the first class. I was aching and bruised after every single session, but I just loved nailing a spin or move and progressing to the next one. Fitness aside, Pole has taught me how to love myself again. There are a lot of challenges in life, and pole has always got me through them. It’s not always about being skinny, losing weight or seeing results from your workouts, but being healthy and loving the skin you are in. The community we have here at the studio is like a big family, if you are having a crap day, the other ladies in class will brighten your day, and your muscles will thank you for a great work out.

I run my own Physiotherapy clinic called Essential Physiotherapy. I’ve been a physio for 11 years, and my desire and drive to help people grows each day. I have upskilled to work in Women’s Health to treat and help women though pregnancy and the post-natal period. Pilates has been a big part of my physio treatment and I love teaching these classes too.

My wonderful husband Ra has been so supportive of everything that I do, taking care of our gorgeous son Ryan while I’m teaching. Our biggest supporters of the studio are my dogs Pippin the Chihuahua and Athena the Rottie. They love coming to class for all the free pats and cuddles the ladies give them!

Please take a look around the website, and if you have any questions get in touch. We would love you to have a spin or class with us!

I have two! If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you. If your dreams don't scare you they are not big enough.

I've been poling for 5 years and am absolutely addicted! The strength and confidence you gain both physically and mentally is unlike any other fitness training I have experienced. I love to feel empowered and am so grateful I have the opportunity to inspire and instill this to others. No matter your age, body type or experience pole is amazing for everyone!
